November Designers: Meet Toodles Noodles

My Name is Liora Saad

I sell as Toodles Noodles

Who’s your biggest critic and supporter? myself

What was your first piece and/or idea that made you keep creating? Whales wrapping paper

What lead you to where you are today? The love and support of my family, friends and those who keep buying the products

Who are your favourite artists? and what inspires your work? Matisse. I find inspiration from every day occurances, walking in the sun, Pinterest, blogs, or sometimes just walking around the supermarket!

What other areas would you like to explore or expand into? Would love to get into textiles and more packaging products (personalised tape, coasters, post-its, journals, table runners, ribbons – heaps!)

Describe your workspace and surroundings and what your creative process is.  I work at home on a beautiful desk my partner built. I surround myself by designs that inspire me either by their colour, typography, layout, etc. I usually have two notebooks next to me and at least 3 notepads – always jotting down new ideas.

What advice would you give other artists/illustrators starting out? Research heaps and follow your heart

How has your creative style developed over time? I have a distinct colour pallet and use of kraft paper with white accents.

What do you love most about working with your medium/material? The products are all made out of 100% recycled or closest to material – which makes me proud to think that we can still create great design with being enviro friendly.

How hard is it as an artist to balance creativity with business? Quite hard, as a small business owner you have to be very focused and driven!
